In 2003, Kansas State University was awarded an ADVANCE – Institutional Transformation grant by the National Science Foundation. ADVANCE is a program designed to increase the participation, retention, and advancement of women in academic science, technology, engineering and math careers by changing institutional culture and practices. The ADVANCE office serves as a campus-wide resource for information about policies and practices that work to increasing gender diversity among STEM faculty. We also administer initiatives and policies intended to accomplish this goal.
To understand how global change is happening today, a Kansas State University professor is looking back 10,000 years at nitrogen availability in forest and grassland ecosystems.
